The Make-Believe World of John Conyers ...
Some folks use a time machine, some favor an interdimensional alternative universe bubble ...but I guess for House Democrats, it's John Conyers.
You can't beat a Conyers event if you want to play "dress-up."
Last summer, he had a "playlike" impeachment of President Bush, based on the discredited DowningStreetMemo, starring none other than "Mother Sheehan," and Joe Wilson. (see photo at right)
Now, he's introduced a motion to the House to censure President Bush, and VP Cheney, for misleading the American people in the run-up to the Iraq war.

The resolutions were quietly introduced Sunday evening along with a third resolution (HR 635) to create a Select Committee to investigate the administration’s intent to go to war prior to congressional authorization. The committee would also be charged with examining manipulation of pre-war intelligence, thwarting Congressional oversight and retaliatory attacks against critics. As part of this resolution, House Judiciary Democrats seek also to explore violations of international law as pertaining to detainee abuse and torture of prisoners of war

By now, the run-up to war, and the intel involved has been studied out the wazoo. Problem is, I guess Conyers just doesn't like the results.
I doubt that this will make it through the largely Republican House. Which is a good thing, since our fearless Republican leaders in the Senate seem largely involved with letting the Democrats tell them which foot to shoot first. ¶ 7:00 AM
